Welcome to GUIDE ME CAPE TOWN, my name is Daniel Sidis.
You have at your service a fully trained accredited guide who has lived in Cape Town since the 1960s. My speciality is doing private tours of not more than 6 people, but I am able to cater for bigger groups as well, if the need arises. In a smaller group there is more flexibility, it is more intimate and you can better enjoy the sharing of my knowledge. I cover the Cape Town & surrounding areas as well as the fantastic overland tours of the Garden Route (3 to 4 day tours).
I offer you a guide that becomes your friend. You will receive personal advice, on all your travel plans. My services include airport transfers, reservation for accommodation, car hire, shopping and cruises. I can sometimes obtain discounts on the above & I would gladly pass them on to you. The aim is to make your stay in our beautiful country worthwhile & full of wonderful memories. My specialities are tours in & around Cape Town & Garden Route & promoting South Africa, this miracle nation and new democracy.
SAFETY
One of the most frequently asked questions is about safety and security in our country. Just as in most cities Cape Town has its security problems but being accompanied by an experienced tour guide, your chances of safety issues are hugely minimized & clients need never be in a vulnerable situation.
My love for guiding combined with the enthusiasm in promoting South Africa & its history, its peoples & cultures will make your trip an unforgettable one.
ABOUT ME
I was born in the Congo in the 1950's and my home language is French.
I was a DJ in the 70's & 80's.
I worked in the Congo in the import export business.
I owned my own record store in the 80's in Cape Town.
Worked in the textile industry for 11 years.
I have been guiding since 1996.
MY INTERESTS
Member of the National Geographic Society.
I am a sports fanatic for: soccer, rugby, cricket, cycling, athletics, you name it I love it.
Visiting wineries & tasting wines & I am also a wine collector.
History & particularly of Cape Town & its cultures.
Exploring new & interesting places.
Current affairs & politics.
Theatre & movies.
Collect old radios as well as vinyl records.
