THE QUEEN MARY SAILS INTO CAPETOWN WITH THE TUTU’S
The largest ocean liner in the world sails into CAPE TOWN
Tutu and his wife, Leah, were among the passengers who disembarked in Cape Town.
The archbishop was invited to deliver lectures on his new book Made for Goodness – which he co-wrote with his daughter Mpho, also an Anglican priest – on the ship. At an on-board auction, 24 of his books were sold, two of them for R120000 each.
One foreign passenger was so moved that she pledged R37000 a year to Tutu’s Zithulele Hospital project in the Eastern Cape.
